Links For March 3rd

Welcome to another week of links. Last Friday, I got to play a non-Japanese speaking patient at a study session for volunteer English interpreters. I had a good time and learned a lot about first-aide. Hopefully, it was a useful exercise for the participants. It has been getting warmer this last week and while I am glad, I have seen news reports of farmers concerned about the health of their crops. This weekend, I am looking forward to the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Matsue.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions. All articles and opinions are presented as-is and do not necessarily reflect the personal opinions of the PAs, Shimane Prefecture, or the JET Programme.

Finally, my personal top 3 Japanese words of the last week were:

包帯[ほうたい・houtai]: Bandage

骨折(する)[こっせつ(する)・kossetsu(suru)]: (to) fracture

捻挫[ねんざ・nenza]: Sprain

Wishing you all a very happy week!
